Tanzanian women who live in impoverished and rural areas frequently struggle because they cannot get electricity. Their everyday lives are affected, and it also limits their access to economic and educational opportunities. In order to solve these problems, the Give Them Light Foundation offers long-term solutions that strengthen communities and empower women.

Objective

The project’s main objective is to provide Tanzanian women who are economically disadvantaged with solar-powered lighting systems. These systems will not only light up homes, but they will also give women the opportunity to work longer hours, earn money, and feel safer and more secure.

Implementation Strategy

1. Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to identify communities with the greatest need for lighting solutions.
2. Solar Lighting Distribution: Distribute high-quality, durable solar lighting systems to selected women, ensuring they receive adequate training on installation, maintenance, and maximizing usage.
3. Entrepreneurship Training: Provide training workshops focused on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and business skills to empower women to start or expand small businesses.
4. Community Engagement: Foster community involvement through awareness campaigns, workshops, and interactive sessions to promote sustainable energy practices and empower women as community leaders.
